Carlton & Faceby and Bilsdale Church of England Federation Governing Body

The day to day management of the schools is the responsibility of the headteacher but the Governing Body is responsible for overseeing all aspects of school life and has three statutory responsibilities:

  • Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
  • Holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of staff
  • Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.

These functions require the right people with the necessary skills (training is available), time and commitment.

Our Governing Body has 12 governor posts representing the whole school community. If you are interested in contributing to the work of the Governing Body, please contact the Chair of Governors or the headteacher. You can contact governors through the school office.

Minutes of Governing Body Meetings can be provided, upon request.  If you require a copy of the public minutes, please make this request in writing by emailing admin@carltonfaceby.n-yorks.sch.uk 

Minutes will be provided in hard copy and must be collected from the school office.
