PFA (Parents and Friends Association)

The joint Carlton & Faceby and Bilsdale & Midcable PFA is a great opportunity for parents, carers and friends of the school to get involved, support the school and meet other families and friends of the school. The PFA is organising events and activities to raise money for the school. In previous years the PFA funded play equipment and the new outdoor kitchen for nursery and reception children in the playing field.

We have lots of ideas for social events and fundraising starting with coffee afternoons and cake sales during autumn and winter and ice cream Fridays in summertime.  Other ideas are to offer refreshments at the sports day and at school events. We are also plaining to fundraise through  ‘The giving machine’, 100 club, DVDs of school productions and a school calendar.

In December the PFA organised a joint Christmas party and fair and in March we enjoyed a Magic Show presented by the Middlesbrough circle of magic.

We asked children, parents and the school what the PFA could do for them and found that the children would like new playground toys for break time such a football, football goals, hula hoops, skipping ropes, tennis rackets and balls. The school would like to install a white board in the hall to use for assemblies, presentations and other events and parents were interested to organise social events to give families the opportunity to get together and support the school.

In March we were able to support the school to purchase the interactive whiteboard for the school hall and to offer £150 to the school council in order to buy new outdoor play equipment.

Please do get in touch if you have other ideas or would like to help with any of the above. We would love to hear from you.
