Stokesely Cluster Inter School KS1 Multi Skills Competition

We have already started working towards our next School Games Gold Mark.

  • The School Sports Organising Crew are in place and are now planning their first events of the year.
  • Key Stage 1 children from both schools have attended their first event of the year - the annual multiskills festival at Stokesley School.

The children left Bilsdale in Jackie's taxi and met with the Carlton children at Stokesley school main entrance where they were greeted by a familiar faced Young Sports Leader!

We walked round to the astro turf where we immediately were helped to warm up, using some fun activities, ready to start the event.

Many of the other primaries started to join us and when every one was present the event got underway

The events consisted of

  • target throwing - this involved throwing beanbags into hoops which were in a line spaced at metre intervals
  • distance throwing where we used our over arm throwing technique we learnt last summer to good effect
  • a slalom run running in and out of cones in a given time
  • speed bounce - taking off on two feet and landing on two feet over a line.We had to see how many jumps we could do in 15 seconds
  • throw, clap and catch - throwing, clapping and then catching a beanbag

Everyone had a great time and were thrilled at the end when many  of us were identified as having performed well in each of the events. Oscar did exceptionally well in all events!

We could not wait to go and meet our parents and tell them about what we had been up to and in the case of one our boys how exhausted he was! We look forward to getting our certificates in our Celebration assembly and doing it all again next year.
