Sports Premium Statement

Since September 2013 Carlton and Faceby and Bilsdale Midcable Chop Gate Schools have received additional funds to support, maintain and enhance the further development of high quality Physical Education and Sport in both our schools (Sport Premium). This money is in addition to the curriculum funding for PE and Sport from the main school budget.

In 2017/18 we propose to provide for the areas of PE, School Sport and Healthy Lifestyle by using the £TBC (Carlton & Faceby) and £TBC (Bilsdale) School Grant to:

  • Contribute to the cost of a SSCO for Stokesley schools to ensure commitment to interschool competition, and the development of sports through coaching across our cluster of schools and opportunities to extend into Level 3 school games
  • Employ a gymnastics coach to work with our KS1 children, as part of a lunch/curriculum time coach
  • Provide swimming for all our children every week as we feel this is an invaluable part of our sport provision
  • Provide the staffing and transport to and from interschool events, ensuring access to all pupils of at least 2 events per child.

  • Support our outdoor and adventurous provision

  • To employ a gymnastics coach to work with our KS1 children and once again help them to achieve success in Level 1 and Level 2 competition

  • To arrange and transport our children to other local schools for interschool football competitions
  • We have welcomed a coach from the Football Association to work alongside our children and to inspire and motivate them further on their sporting and personal journeys whilst providing the staff with CPD, and allowing them to gain their FA coaching certificate.
  • To provide equipment to help support the delivery of Forest Schools and allow the older children to all access outdoor and adventurous sports at the Outdoor Education Centre
  • Our school hall is very small so the money has enabled us to have access to a local village hall, thus allowing the gymnastics club to operate during a lunch time at Carlton school
  • To cover the costs of a dedicated PE teacher, in the absence of a qualified member of staff - due to unforeseen staffing changes, to plan and deliver sport within the confederation
