Carlton and Faceby CE VA Primary School

Carlton and Faceby CE is a co-educational primary school for children between the ages of 3 and 11. It is a village school which plays an active part in the life of its community.

Carlton and Faceby school is situated in Carlton-in-Cleveland, one of the most picturesque villages  within the  North Yorks Moors National Park. It is 5 miles from Stokesley and easily accessible from other villages in the area. It serves the villages of both Carlton and Faceby, and a number of children travel from outside the catchment area to attend.

In addition to its modern facilities, the school has well maintained grounds within which there is a large playground, sports field and wildlife area.

The rainbow is our emblem because it is the symbol of a dream and we want our children to fulfil their dreams. The needs of the children are at the heart of everything we do and therefore we are dedicated to providing the best education we can for the children in our care. We believe that our pursuit of excellence does not go unrewarded and is reflected in the behaviour, attitude to learning, caring, independent, responsible nature of each of our pupils.

We have a Governor lead preschool, "Little Owls", which operates within the school each day. The children regularly have school lunch with the children from the school. The fully qualified staff follow the guided Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum which allows them to develop each child's individual needs.  "Little Owls" is registered for children aged 3 to 5.

We are part of the Stokesley schools cluster. This is a group of schools who work together, sharing teaching ideas and activities for the children. The cluster introduces our pupils to others in the surrounding area and allows them to socialise through joint learning activities for example in RE, shared visits and numerous sports events.

We currently have 44 children on role
